I have been a hand drummer for several years, starting at age 11 with a drumset and eventually discovering hand percussion several years ago. About Emerys…
I have been a hand drummer for several years, starting at age 11 with a drumset and eventually discovering hand percussion several years ago. During this period, I have been fortunate to teach others to drum in various styles, drum for belly dance troupes and lead drum circles ranging from five members up to fifty!
Among my experiences in performances, I have performed with Zeora Sage and the Soulshakers, Obsidian Horizon, The Roses of Shalimar and Village Mandala.
Additionally, I am accomplished in web design, graphics, and IT services.
Finally, I am available for classes, drum circles and belly dance performances. I am learning the didgeridoo and Native American flute. Currently, I am in the process of putting together various performers who are accomplished in instruments such as drums, didgeridoo, fiddle, bagpipes and acoustic guitar. Contact me today if you are interested in any of these venues!

Thanks to a mutual friend, I discovered hand drumming and especially playing the doumbek for bellydancing and middle-eastern music! My first hand drum was a bodhran that was a gift and started me on the path to playing Celtic music! I have been fortunate enough to participate in several venues, thanks to the networking of those who gave me the opportunities to perform and put together various drum circles, band performance and solo.
One of my first bellydance troupes that I drummed for was Zaphara. She taught lessons and formed a troupe and she had me drum for them along the way!
A big thanks to Zeora Sage for a long-term performance with her and the Soulshakers folk music band (see gallery).
